Tolar Manufacturing Company delivering second installment of bus shelters to LYNX
Tolar Manufacturing Company is delivering a second installment of bus shelters as part of a three-year contract awarded in April 2022 to build 35 bus shelters for Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX).
After successfully delivering eight Signature Custom Radius shelters in 2022, the company is now set to deliver 14 more in May, bringing the total deliveries to 32 bus shelters to date. Designed in two sizes, nine-feet and 13-feet, the signature shelters are configured to accommodate both revenue-generating advertising, as well as non-advertising options. Each shelter features a fully welded curved radius roof and open-end wall supported by an angled front post, along with a perforated metal screen rear wall. Amenities include standard perforated metal benches and 32-gallon steel strap trash receptacles and solar lighting systems. All metal components are finished in standard super durable baked powder coat for long lasting sustainability and easy maintenance and are available in custom powder coat color finish combinations to reflect the character of the neighborhoods in which they are installed.
“LYNX has found Tolar Manufacturing to be a great partner with respect to providing transit amenities to our bus passengers. The Tolar team, through our long-standing relationship and current and previous contracts, has always been attentive and responsive no matter the request. As our local funding partners continue to look at ways to increase capital funding to our agency, we see Tolar being an integral part of that solution,” said Jeff Reine, senior project manager, LYNX.
“We appreciate the opportunity to continue our relationship with LYNX under this new contract term,” said Tolar Manufacturing Company’s Business Development Manager Scott Williams. “Our partnership with LYNX has allowed us to connect communities and provide passenger comforts to thousands of LYNX riders throughout the Orlando area since we began working together over 12 years ago.”
