DSE 2016 to Present “Self-Administered Digital Signage: Yes, You Can Do It!”
Digital Signage Expo (DSE) has announced that its four-part Digital Signage “Content University” Seminar Program at DSE 2016 designed specifically for end users, content providers will include an hour-long session titled, “Self-Administered Digital Signage: Yes, You Can Do it!”
On Thursday, March 17, from 8 to 9 a.m., 11Giraffes’ Rudy Alexander, president and CEO, will present a session that will share simple rules to help attendees determine whether or not they should attempt project planning, media design and content management in-house and when to hire a third-party professional.
DSE Advisory Board members recently had the opportunity to comment on this timely topic, including:
“There are several basic considerations when deciding whether to develop and/or manage content in-house versus outsourcing: urgency, cost, the need to Integrate messaging with other campaign components and staff time," said Cheryl Flohr, director of communications, Parker Aerospace.
“Insourcing versus outsourcing is a decision that is truly about context. The type of content, the cost to develop and maintain it, and the nature of the organization all factor into the equation," said Thomas Kunka, senior applications specialist, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
“This decision doesn’t have to be a hard line one way or the other, it can be made per campaign or initiative as well. I’ve seen retailers do it both ways, and both models can work very well. Strong partnership and communication are key in either scenario," said Joel Allard, senior creative specialist, in-store digital, Target Stores.
Registration for “Self-Administered Digital Signage: Yes, You Can Do It!” or any of the DSE 2016 educational conference seminars, which are sponsored by BroadSign International and are eligible for Digital Signage Expert Group (DSEG) certification renewal credits, is available online at www.dse2016.com.
