Axis41, a digital marketing agency based in Salt Lake City, recently redesigned and launched the new Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) website. UTA, whose vision is to "provide an integrated system of innovative, accessible, and efficient public transportation services that increase access to opportunities and contribute to a healthy environment for the people of the Wasatch region," sought Axis41 to create a responsive, redesigned website that focused on better mobile experiences, elevated access to rider tools, and an overall enhanced technology platform.
Axis41 analyzed research that indicated that over 60% of UTA site visitors came from mobile devices, and 90% of all web traffic utilized rider tools, such as schedules and maps. By making data-driven decisions based on research and other best-in-class transit authorities, the agency's software development team then underwent a website redesign that culminated in the launch of a visually-compelling design space that was easy for travelers to navigate.
In addition to the website redesign and launch, the digital marketing agency also helped UTA with its Sitecore CMS implementation.
"We were excited to help transition the website to Sitecore, a global leader in customer experience management," said Dave Swensen, Axis41's director of software engineering. "By upgrading its technology platform, we are confident that UTA now has the tools necessary to shape the customer experience for the better." Swensen was eager to get the team involved in light of recent developments regarding the winter inversion in Utah.
The State, which is working aggressively to reduce vehicle emissions and improve air quality in Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas, is urging individuals to consider additional sources of transportation besides personal motor vehicles, and UTA is passionate about furthering that mission.
"Transit is more important than ever along the Wasatch Front," said Erika Shubin, UTA's public relations and marketing manager. "Axis41 gave us the resources to make finding information on UTA services as simple as possible, and public feedback has been exceptional. We appreciate all of Axis41's work and expertise in helping us remake our website into a useful, on-the-go tool for our riders."
