TranSystems Corporation celebrates 50 years in business on April 21 throughout its more than 30 offices nationwide.
In 1966, Herbert Johnson, Gerald Brickell, and Edward Mulcahy formed JBM Associates Engineers and Planners as traffic experts to help the Kansas City area adapt to its growing transportation demands.
Since then, TranSystems has expanded coast to coast to offer transportation services encompassing the entire multimodal range, from roadway networks and passenger rail expansion to freight rail intermodal facilities and airport connections.
“It’s an honor to continue the legacy created back in 1966,” said CEO Richard Morsches, PE. “The entrepreneurial spirit that started this company drives us as we provide clients with innovative transportation solutions from diverging diamond interchanges and freight rail flyovers to consolidated rental car facilities and transit stations.”
TranSystems has excelled in the planning, design and management of some of the largest transportation projects in the nation, including Hartford’s I-84 Viaduct Replacement plan, Chicago’s Wacker Drive and Congress Parkway Interchange Reconstruction, and New York City’s revitalization of its oldest bridge, the High Bridge.
