The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA/Metro) has compiled a Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors to provide Platform Screens Door systems on two metro stations as a pilot project to improve customer and platform safety.
WMATA is in the planning phase of implementing a platform screen doors pilot project at one underground and one above ground station on the Red Line. Proposed platform screen door systems must be lightweight, weather resistant, and low maintenance while reliably protecting the full length of the platform with automatic and manual operations.
RFI responses are due by 3:00 PM EST on August 16, 2024.
