CHQ TRANSIT is a division of Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities and is the county’s public transportation. In 2023 CHQ Transit went through a rebranding changing their name from CARTS to CHQ Transit. In 2023 CHQ Transit provided 168,281trips. CHQ Transit offers 3 types of service: City Fixed Route Service, Rural Deviated Service and Paratransit/Demand Response Service. There are 26 – 27 routes operating daily Monday through Friday. City Fixed Routes operate on Saturdays. May through September CHQ Transit operates 2 tourism routes Thursday through Saturday. All of the vehicles are handicapped accessible.
INTENT OF PROPOSAL: Chautauqua County is looking for a contractor to provide and deploy up to date transit scheduling software in order to better streamline scheduling and dispatching process and procedures. The system should include, at a minimum, capabilities for rural scheduled on and off route public transportation trip reservation, demand response trip reservation and city fixed route trip reservation, scheduling and dispatching, reporting, fixed route display and mobile app, Data Interchange Utility, Ability to bill for Medicaid, MAS Data Import – Interface with Medical Answering Services, AVL/MDC Software, Mobile Data Communications and Notification Module. The system should provide, also as a minimum, the ability to reduce paperwork (trip manifest, no/show/cancel report), reduce duplication of data entry, visibility of vehicle locations AVL/GPS, trip status, and compliance with all American with Disabilities Act Regulations and all other regulations or other funding sources
