The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) is largest transit operator in the state of Tennessee, and is fully committed to providing top customer service in every aspect of its operation from trolleys to regular fixed-route service. Its website (www.matatransit.com) is designed to provide more in-depth information on MATA and its services. Each weekday, MATA transports nearly 35,000 riders throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas on 200 transit vehicles including paratransit vans, vintage rail trolleys and conventional accessible buses. MATA serves three cities in Shelby County and West Memphis in Arkansas.
